Hello,
I have had this HP ZD7000 for some time. Recently this month it started making this little clicking noise, then yesterday it got hit by my arm then it made a really loud grinding noise then I immediately turned off power. I have cleaned out the heatsink and I have taked out the fans and looked at them then I took the blades off of the main motor. I blew on them then put everything back together. It helped alot, then it started to make that clicking noise that isn't normal. Can somebody please generously tell me a possible cause? Thanks. :)

Hard drive, maybe? Remove the drive, try booting anything off the CD such as MemTest86+.

Hello,
It has nothing to do with the hard disk. When I tore it apart, I tested it with no hard disk, so it isn't thee hard disk.

Perhaps the CPU fan. ?

After 5 years these ZD7000 fan bearings give out. i have even seen a few that plain lost a blade, and sound like a Black & Decker Lawn & Leaf blower with a mulching attachment. - and this causes CPU overheating.

The airflow management in the ZD7000 is susceptible to ingesting stray junk - and this kills the CPU fans.

Just my guess ;)

FWIW - ZD7000 Parts (fans) are here:

I assume that it is the CPU fan bearings. I don't know how to lube laptop ones (If possible), and lots of lint and dust was removed from the metal parts with the air out take. It hasn't overheated since, but it still sounds like the bearings are going out. Can they be lubed or do they need to be replaced? I am tight on cash so I a looking for a efficient and low cost solution.

Sorry this next part is off topic, but my monitor is also dying... I still have a picture but the monitor can not support it's self. I need to have it propped next to a wall or something to keep it up. I noticed that the back where the screws are next to the monitor is cracked (the plastic). Does any one have an estimation on how much it may cost to fix that? Thanks :)
