Laptop Model: dv8000t (w/Intel CPU)
Operating System: Windows XP
Purchase Date: 06 Apr 2006
I have a HP dv8000 product number EE944AV I would like to upgrade
Intel CPU T2600 2.16Ghz, Cache 2048kb x86 Family 6 Model 14 Stepping 8 Centrino DUO
2 GB Memory
Windows XP 5.1.2600 Service Pack 3
BIOS F.23
I would like to upgrade the processor to a faster chip and more memory. What would be a suggested upgrade?
The HP support site states that the machine is capable to 4GB but no-one makes memory in 2GB cards for a total of 2 in the configuration to get to 4GB.
If I cannot I know Windows XP64 will allow larger memory but how can I upgrade the operating system without re-installing ALL my software. I have CAD and engineering analysis programs so re-install would be a pain in the A__. Is there a step by step way of re-installing the operating system around my applications?
